Is Fear Keeping You From True Love

Do you know couples that married their high school sweetheart and are more in love today than they were when they first met? Doesn't it make you wonder what they have that you don't? Do they have some secret ingredient that you were not born with?

I have come to the conclusion that they knew how to love with all their heart at a very young age, and they were not afraid.

Most everyone has some kind of fear in his or her life; however, we are just going to mention a few here. You could be suffering from the fear of getting hurt, fear of losing love, fear of emotional pain, fear of making a mistake. In most cases you are not afraid of love, you are afraid of losing love

Fear keeps us from doing so many things, and the problem is, either we don’t recognize it, or choose to ignore it.

Where does fear come from? It comes from your past, mainly your childhood. When you were young and you loved and that love was not returned, you started building this wall around your heart in hopes that this wall would protect you from being hurt the next time.

Do you notice yourself sabotaging what could be a great relationship with a suitable partner before the relationship really gets interesting? Maybe you hide from love or reject love.

How do you respond when someone pays you a compliment? Do you say "thank you" or do you try to discredit what the person says? Are you your own worse critic? When someone shows you an act of kindness do you think they want something from you?

These are all signs of fear, and you are pushing love out of your life. You may not even realize it. It order to receive true love, you must break through your emotional walls and be able to give true love as well as receiving it. You will never be able to experience true love if you do not allow people to see who you really are on the inside, and what you needs are.
